Well, it’s the eve of Day 030! Things are going very well. Just another small update today. I moved half of the Pennywort to the left side of the tank. Fills in that gap nicely! Plants and fish are doing fine, replaced the filter media and have been adding my ferts as they are needed. 2mL of iron everyday except sunday. 4mL of potassium wed. and fri.
Enjoi the new pics. :)

You’ve done a beautiful job with that tank: I’m envious of your aquascaping skills. I always thought Paradise Fish were a bit aggressive — he doesn’t pick on the Pearl?
(BTW, I found this blog through a link on AC)

Thanks Anthony! How’s LA life? I used to live there, in nyc now. Cool you found me through AC, that’s a wicked awesome site. The tank is fun, been slowing sketching out changes in my head. I’m toying with the idea of adding Riccia as the foreground lawn, but I don’t know yet
A lot of work.
The paradise is very flamboyant! But he’s on pretty good behavior. He doesn’t pester the Pearls or Cherry Barbs…even during feeding time. He def. likes to show off, but is a pretty great sport all around. Not too aggressive at all.
Thanks for your great comments! Any pics I can see of your tank?

Riccia would look nice, or maybe some dwarf chain swords.
My own tank (the “practice tank” for a larger one I’m planning) can be found here: http://picasaweb.google.com/irishspy/BettaPalace
The plants have only been in for a little over a week, but I’ve already discovered I can grow thread algae and snails!
I should be adding the first fish, a betta, this weekend.

NICE WORK!! and awesome pics…it’s looking great!
Let me know how the betta goes….was thinking of starting a nano tank for a betta soon. I had some snails when I first started, too. But yeah, tehy were bad for the plants, so away they went!
Gonna get an algae eating snail this weekend!
Make sure to update me when you get your Betta!

The betta finally arrived this weekend, and so far, so good. The details are at my blog on AC, under “irishspy.”
